November meeting: How To Publish Your Novel

Have you written a novel? a collection of poetry? a series of short stories? Please come to our November workshop to get advice about writing a cover letter, creating a synopsis, compiling a resume, approaching an agent, etc. This will be at the beginning of the meeting, then we will have our ordinary monthly sharing-and-critique session.

Sørina Higgins is a writer, English teacher, and Inklings scholar. Sørina serves as Chair of the Department of Language and Literature at Signum University and teaches English at King's College and Lehigh Carbon Community College. She has published two books of poetry, "The Significance of Swans" and "Caduceus."

  2. suggestion: skip the agents, etc. amazon recently acquired createspace, and they do on-demand publishing, with sales through amazon. i’m about to release my latest book with them [it’s not a novel or poetry, alas], and the uploading/proofing process was simple. they even provide a free ISBN. you provide your own content and cover art, and they do the rest. the best part is i can charge a low price (about 1/5 of what a publisher would charge) while getting a royalty that’s about 4-times better. worth investigating…
